The SQLDay 2025 conference, held in Wrocław on May 12–14, was an event to remember - and Datumo was proud to be a part of it as a Platinum Sponsor and active contributor to the community. With a focus on technical depth, cutting-edge solutions, the conference gathered data professionals, developers, and technology enthusiasts to share knowledge, build connections, and explore the future of data engineering.
A technical deep dive at SQLDay 2025
SQLDay 2025 was a deeply technical event - designed by developers, for developers. The atmosphere was casual yet professional, fostering open conversations and the free exchange of ideas. The conference featured a large auditorium and four additional breakout rooms for deep-dive sessions. Attendees had access to a wide range of presentations, covering topics from SQL Server and Azure to Databricks, Power BI, and the emerging Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.

Datumo’s had a strong presence at the event - we we contributed actively to the agenda with an impactful introduction by Rafał Rozpondek during the opening keynote and four engaging presentations:
- Understand your data landscape with Observability platform by Maciej Kępa & Mariusz Wójcik
- Exploring AI & Machine Learning Pathways by Maciej Kępa & Marcin Szeliga
- Transforming Data at Scale: How Żabka Polska Built a Modern Data Architecture with Snowflake by Przemysław Sapkowski & Wioleta Sokołowska
- Building scalable and automated Databricks-oriented data platform from scratch - lessons learned by Wojciech Pratkowiecki

The sessions attracted large audiences, both in-person and online. Attendees showed strong interest, asking insightful questions during the presentations and continuing the conversations at our booth. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive - and we’re excited that the session recordings will be available online in the coming months!
Key Trends: AI and cloud-native solutions
Several prominent themes stood out at SQLDay 2025:
- AI/ML topics were front and center reflecting the growing importance of data-driven solutions in modern businesses.
- Cloud-native architectures, including Databricks, Snowflake, and Power BI, sparked numerous discussions on scalability, flexibility, and best practices.
- A touch of Data Governance and data architecture best practices added depth to the agenda, making it a well-rounded learning experience for all attendees.
Networking and community building

SQLDay was more than just a series of technical sessions - it was a fantastic opportunity for networking. The Tuesday evening afterparty, complete with a silent disco, casino tables, and a relaxed vibe, was a definite highlight. Spontaneous conversations also sparked in the hallways, at the booth, or during coffee breaks. It was heartening to see how many attendees were already familiar with Datumo and approached us to learn more about our projects, discuss recruitment opportunities, and exchange ideas.
Our booth was a hub of activity throughout the conference. Visitors were drawn in by the looping slides showcasing Datumo’s projects and architecture, sparking conversations about real-world challenges and solutions. We also handed out fun swag - tote bags, candy, and pens, adding a light touch to the serious discussions.

For Datumo team members, SQLDay 2025 was an enriching experience. We asked those who attended the conference to share their impressions - and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. As Przemek Sapkowski put it, “Speaking in a packed auditorium and receiving a statuette for our presentation - these moments made me feel like an expert!” Krzysztof Nadolski reflected on learning new tools and services in the Azure ecosystem, while Julia Szymczak highlighted the engaging discussions around the future of Fabric and practical applications in real-world projects.
Final thoughts: why events like this matter?
SQLDay 2025 was an opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from peers, and feel connected to the wider data community. Whether you’re deeply involved in cloud data platforms, passionate about AI solutions, or simply curious about the future of data engineering, SQLDay is the place to be. Attending events like this helps you understand where you stand as a data professional, meet like-minded experts, and build your personal brand.
A big thank you to Krzysztof Nadolski and Julia Szymczak for their support in crafting this event recap and sharing their valuable insights from SQLDay 2025!
